Happy New Year!!!!

Well another year is done and here we are in 07, kind of happened faster than we thought it would, oh well. Pete and I took a few days off last week and went down to New Jersey to see if we could find some cool birds, which of course we did. We went to Long Beach Island first to the Barnegut Bay Light House and Park. We didn't get to the top of the light house but we did walk out on the jetty and saw some really great birds. There were Halequin Ducks all over the place, which were more beautiful than I had ever imagined. Loons, in there non breeding plumage, Long tail ducks, Scoters and Common Eiders, all new to us, minus the loon. Oh yeah, we saw Purple Sandpipers, Rudy Turnstones and Brant Geese. It was quite eventful needless to say.

We continued on to Cape May that night, but more about that later.
