It's migration time already and we are trying our best to see as much as we can. The other day we went to Pack Monadnock Mtn to join in the New Hampshire Audubon's Hawk watch. It was amazing!! It's a great mountain to start with and has a full view which is why they picked it. I have never seen a "Kettle" of hawks and it was truly amazing to see. Although it took me a while, the folks were very patient with me/us and let us use their binoculars to finally see one. Then there were 2, and 3 and on and on. We ended up seeing over 500 hawks that day, which was less than the day before!! On the way home we spotted a hawk on a wire and stopped. I jumped out as it flew over to my side of the street. I walked up to where it was, in a tree not far from my head and took a few pictures, which it didn't mind, then it jumped down in front of me and landed on a mouse!! Truly an amazing day all around. We hope you get to get out there and see some of this magic yourselves, and until then enjoy the pictures.

Happy end of summer, or not so happy depending on your seasonal outlook. We have been busy working here at the store and realized that we have not been in our boats much at all this year, so we took the last few weeks and tried to get it all in! Really, just ask our old bones they'll tell you all about it.

We found this great hidden lake in Goshen VT, up a dirt road, no one around, it was just us on this beautiful lake, absolutely magic. When we arrived, Pete looked across the lake and saw a Mother and baby deer just walking along the shore and taking a drink, it was so amazing. We saw great Butterflies and a Great Blue Heron kept us busy looking around for his next landing.

On the way home we stopped at Dead Creek to check on the fall migration, which is in progress already up here. There were Night Crowned Herons, Green Herons, Great Blues, two immature Eagles and an Osprey.

We hope you enjoy the pictures and we will have more to come in the next few days.

Best Carol & Pete
